A foundry and a mechanical engi-neering workshop were integrated
to manufacture machines and tooling. |

a production unit to
manufacture
corks and capsules. |

SEVABM industrialized the
manufacturing of TEL spinners. |

SEVABM was divided into 2 different entreprises :
- SEVA (still located at 43 Rue du Pont de Fer,
Chalon-sur-Saône).
- LE BOUCHAGE MECANIQUE (moved to the industrial park, north of the city).

After SAINT-GOBAIN /
PONT-A-MOUSSON S.A. merged, SEVA
became a plant of PONT-A-MOUSSON
(Mechanical Engineering Division).

An assembly unit was installed
in the Rue Paul Sabatier plant
(in the industrial park north
of the city). |

1976
SEVA took over the TREVISAN
polishing machines business. |

1982
The LPSC pilot is installed.

SEVA became a 100 %
subsidiary company of
PONT-A-MOUSSON S.A. |

An agreement was signed between SEVA
and FIAT for the engineering of a
complete production unit for
manufacturing of composite tailgates
(ZMC process : injection of polyester
reinforced with glass fibres). |

SEVA was asked by SAINT-GOBAIN
to design and manufacture
a new generation of furnaces
specialized in bending of tempered
glass (side and rear windows for
automotive industry).

1991
SYSPRO, an industrial automation and
robotics company located in
Pont-à-
Mousson, became a
subsidiary of SEVA.
SEVA took over FIBRAFLEX and
industrialized the production process
of amorphous metallic fibres. |

1992
To complete its bending furnaces supply
for the automotive industry, SEVA
designed the first laminated furnace
specialized in the manufacturing
of windscreens.

1993
SEVA took over SYSPRO and
transferred
its activity to the
Chalon-sur-Saône plant.
SEVA was awarded the ISO 9001 certification. |

1st of January 2001
SEVA became SAINT-GOBAIN SEVA
and also changed its logo. |

“SEVA” is still the commercial trade name
of the company. |

2002
The ISO 9001 certification
(version 2000) was renewed.

2003
The SEVAX activities were grouped and
a SEVAX Business Unit was created.
It became an autonomous entity.
An exclusive agreement for the manufacturing and
the marketing of a decarbonation process of
industrial waters (erca²) was signed. |

2004
The foundry activities were
reorganized and a specific hall was
dedicated to the manufacturing
of metallic fibres. |

2005
All the activities of SAINT-GOBAIN
SEVA
related to machining and metal
processing
(fiberizing, foundry,
moulds and tooling manu-
facturing...)
were
grouped and gave birth to
a new
overall division : “Alloy & processing”. |
