Saint-Gobain Seva is canvassing in Ural

Burgundy is the first French region represented in Russia. The Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CRCI) and the company Ural Atlantic signed an agreement through which one Ural Atlantic commits itself to managing a representation office in Ekaterinburg, the capital city of Ural.

6 times as big as France, Ural is a district sparsely populated (22 million inhabitants, that is 8 % of the Russian population) but which represents 22 % of the GDP and shows 15 % of annual growth.

Consequently Saint-Gobain Seva took advantage of this opening in the East to make a canvassing mission in December 2005 under the leadership of the CRCI. This mission led to :

  • the signature of a distribution agreement for the SEVAX products in 2006,
  • the signature of a canvassing and agent contract for the tempering equipment designed and manufactured by Syspro (furnaces, additional machines, complete tempering workshops...) in 2007.

In spring 2007, the activity Fibraflex also began to prepare the ground in Ural for the introduction of the reinforcement fibres on the Russian market.
