Creation of S.E.E.V (Société d’Etudes et d’Exploitation) in Paris.

In 1927, the company changed its name to SEVA (Société d’Etudes Verrières Appliquées), and in 1930 it moved to Rue du Pont de Fer in Chalon-sur-Saône, which remains its headquarters to this day and is still one of its two operating sites.

In its early days, the foundry cast molds for bottles for Saint-Gobain, then manufactured its own tools for glassmaking machines.

Merger with ABM (Articles et Bouchages Métalliques), for the manufacture of caps and closures, SEVA takes the name SEVABM.

SEVABM begins production of plates and TEL machines for glass wool fiber manufacturing (Isover) at the request of Saint-Gobain.

Manufacturing is carried out using a nickel-based alloy. Although melting this alloy is complex, SEVA has the necessary expertise and electric furnaces.

Saint-Gobain and PAM (Pont-à-Mousson) merged, and in 1972 SEVA joined PAM within the “mechanical” division.

SEVA retained its activities in glass machinery, molds, fiber reinforcement, and door closers.

That same year, the facility located on Paul Sabatier Street, 5 km from the Pont de Fer plant, opened its doors.

SEVA became a wholly owned subsidiary of PAM and took the name SEVA PAM before reverting to SEVA in 1990.

The early 1980s saw a major technological advance: the introduction of CAD/CAM systems, with drawing boards being replaced by computers and design software.

SEVA absorbs SYSPRO, a robotic engineering subsidiary of PAM, and the teams are brought together in Chalon-sur-Saône in 1993.

SEVA becomes Saint-Gobain SEVA, as the Group decided to bring all its companies together under the Saint-Gobain prefix.

The 2000s were marked by the investment in a new electron beam drilling machine for the machining business.

For SEVAX, the emergence of new, more flexible and more efficient products, which still remain its strength today.

Saint-Gobain SEVA continues to diversify by expanding its presence in markets outside the Group, particularly in the nuclear and aerospace sectors.

Syspro is positioning itself in the construction waste recycling and sorting markets, while developing Industry 4.0 sensor and measurement solutions for production lines.

Since 2021, SEVA has been promoting a new brand identity that reflects its evolution, its ambitions, and its positioning in constantly changing markets.
